Project Background

Ammon, Idaho, renowned for its close-knit community and dedication to enriching the lives of its residents, is on a mission to address a notable gap in its recreational offerings – an ageing aquatic facility. Recognizing the importance of aquatic amenities encompassing recreation, competition, and therapy, the city acknowledges the longstanding desire within the community for a comprehensive aquatic center.

This ambitious project serves as a comprehensive evaluation of the proposed aquatics center, laying the groundwork for informed decision-making. It is poised to play a pivotal role in determining whether Ammon will proceed with the development of this much-anticipated facility.

To achieve these goals, the City of Ammon has forged a strategic partnership with renowned experts in sports and aquatics facility development – Counsilman-Hunsaker. CH will conduct an exhaustive aquatic feasibility study, encompassing a full site analysis and providing insights into all estimated costs, including design, construction, permitting, soft costs, as well as long-term operation and maintenance expenses.

The City of Ammon envisions the creation of an aquatic facility that not only meets the current recreational, therapeutic, and competitive needs of the community but also stands as a symbol of health, well-being, and recreation for generations to come. This project underscores the city's commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Ammon, and through meticulous research and planning, it seeks to provide the community with an aquatic center that aligns with their diverse needs and aspirations.


Stakeholder Input / Enagement

At the request of the community the City of Ammon, in partnership with Counsilman-Hunsaker, conducted a survey as part of an ongoing effort to collect feedback from the community. These survey questions tried to ascertain general community preference for aquatic amenities encompassing recreation, competition, therapy, and the subsequent aquatic facility types. Over 5,000 contributions were made by our community members.
